由羅馬飛多哈的回程,其實比多哈飛慕尼黑還短,大概五小時。而且一樣是半夜起飛,一大早抵達。所以我已經有心理準備,怕到時又只提供一餐只是普通豐盛的早餐,上機前還先吃了晚餐 (在羅馬火車站的自助餐廳吃到還蠻難吃的海鮮飯)
沒想到,這回運氣還不錯。上飛機不久,空姐就開始提供餐點服務。而且提供的可是正式的『晚餐』,這回甚至有正式的菜單。
上圖:這一盤看起來還不錯,而且鮭魚‧‧‧還真的蠻大一塊的。提供的酒,是給你一整瓶小瓶的,而不是只倒一杯。更難得的是,我說我要白酒時,空姐竟問我:請問要法國白酒,還是智利白酒?真難得連經濟艙都有兩種以上的葡萄酒可以選。
Finally
on the flight from Rome to Doha, they served a real "dinner" (and even
better, they have three choices for entree). Though still only one meal
was served (this is a 5 and 1/2 hours flight), no breakfast!! OK, I
admit I was being difficult...Look closer, yes, they did give out an
individual bottle of (French or Chilean, you can choose) wine.
上圖:開胃菜:通心麵沙拉,其中還加了鮪魚末,小黃瓜及小塊起士。基本上不是很好吃。算是這餐中唯一的敗筆。
The appetizer - Pasta salad with some tuna. It did not taste very good (but fortunately, it's all uphill from now on)
上圖:主餐其實有三種可以選,我不想吃牛肉,義大利麵又在義大利幾天下來吃怕了,所以就叫海鮮類。這天的海鮮正好是最愛的鮭魚。一打開鋁箔紙,哇
,好大一塊鮭魚排,幾乎占滿了整個餐盒。切一塊咬下去,真是鮮嫩多汁
。我記得曾經在芝加哥千禧公園 (Millenium Park)的一家餐廳點過鮭魚排,味道和這裡吃到的很接近,那時好像付了25 到30美元左右,算是在美國中高級餐廳海鮮主菜單點的正常價格。沒想到,坐卡達航空經濟艙,竟吃得到和美國中高級餐廳一樣水準的主菜
。魚排壓著的薯塊及胡蘿蔔,味道也調理的相當好,加了牛油及迷迭香,搭配口味較淡的烤鮭魚排剛剛好。光是這道主菜就足以教我對卡達航空刮目相看了。
I
chose grilled salmon for my entree. It is a big chunk of salmon steak
lying on the bed of potatoes and vegetables (mostly carrot) and they are
so good! It is practically something you pay at least 20 dollars to eat
in a mid- to high ended restaurant in he US (more if you try to get it
in UAE). After the disappointing breakfast on my outbound trip, I have
to say this entree reverse my impression about Qatar Airway.
上圖:蛋糕看來普普通通,但其實也蠻好吃的,甜得恰到好處。飯後竟還有白蘭地可以喝。在泰航的經濟艙之後,已經很少坐經濟艙會碰到空服員主動提供飯後的白蘭地了 (通常你的死皮賴臉的和空姐要,他們才會偷偷摸摸得去空廚到給你一小杯)
The
desert was good too! And they did give me brandy after the meal (You
have to ask for it, but they do put the bottle on the cart so you can
see it)
所以這趟羅馬到多哈的航程,也是只提供一餐。晚餐提供了,接下來也就沒有早餐了。吃完飯,看場電影,闔眼一小時,多哈也就到了。
上圖:多哈到阿布達比,才45分鐘的短程航程提供的簡餐,算是早餐吧!這次三明治裡面的料比較好,包的是鮪魚沙拉。三明治旁還有個甜麵包。
Another
snack on a very short flight: from Doha back to Dubai. It is a small
sandwich again, with tuna salad in it this time. It tasted good.
上圖:甜麵包上怎麼會有小黃瓜?咬了一口,發現原來是開心果‧‧‧嗯,也蠻好吃的!不像一般阿拉伯式甜點,甜到令人抓狂。
And
them this is some Arabic sweets that looks like cinnamon buns. It is
not really my "type" of desert. But I still think the whole in-flight
meal experience was good.
返程的這兩段,吃得實在是比去程好很多,尤其是那塊鮭魚排,現在看到照片還會流口水。所以毫無疑問的:
